About The Opportunity
The role is to provide support and advice to the NUM’s and staff of the Sustaining NSW Families staff located at Fairfield and Rosemeadow the successful applicant will spend their time between the 2 sites.

The successful applicant will work with an experienced team of clinicians both Nursing and Allied Health.

The role entails ensuring the fidelity of the program across the 2 sites and ensuring that the clients are recruited too and remain engaged within the program for the 2 years.

The successful candidate will need to be a critical thinker, be personable great communicator.


What You'll Be Doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence based practice within Child and Family Health Nursing (CFHN). The CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership in CFHN. The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with the health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes. The CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management in CFHN.

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field of Child and Family Health Nursing (CFHN) . In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed (CFHN) , or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  2. Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the specialty of Child and Family Health Nursing (CFHN).
  3. Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
  8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
