The Substance Use in Pregnancy and Parenting Specialty (SUPPS) Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is a clinical expert who, through leadership, education, training, and mentoring, facilitates excellence in clinical practice and research and provides expert advice to patients and carers with complex health care needs in relation to substance misuse. 

The CNC works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, support, crisis intervention, care planning and evaluation of care in line with the NSW Health Clinical Care Standards: Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment. The CNC provides expert consultation and advice to health care workers and external agencies for patients with complex needs through their continuum of care until discharge.

·    Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse

  • A minimum 5 years full time equivalent post graduate qualification experience and a post graduate qualification in the field of Drug and Alcohol clinical practice, or other qualifications or experience relevant to the Drug and Alcohol specialty.
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
