About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) provides expert clinical advice to women, patients, family, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:
- Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services
- Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs
- Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.

Ideal Candidate
- Current midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Proven ability to consult, review, and develop, both new and existing policies and procedures within the relevant speciality.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment.
