We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Midwife Educator – Post Natal to join the team at Nepean Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a rewarding education-focused role where your clinical expertise, leadership and enthusiasm for teaching will make a genuine difference to Midwives, Students and most importantly Women and Families in our care.
As the Clinical Midwife Educator – Post Natal, you will play a key role in supporting the professional development of the Midwifery Workforce across the Postnatal environment. You’ll have the opportunity to facilitate learning, provide clinical support, contribute to education programs and promote best-practice care. You’ll work closely with Midwives, Students and the broader Multidisciplinary team to build confidence, capability and a culture of continuous learning. This is more than an education role — it’s an opportunity to influence practice, empower your colleagues and help shape the next generation of Midwives.

What you will bring to the role
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Midwife or Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Relevant clinical/education post registration qualification
- Recent extensive clinical experience deemed appropriate by the selection panel
- Demonstrated ability to identify learning needs and to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate education.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to work in a consultative manner.
- Demonstrated previous experience in clinical teaching, mentoring and preceptorship.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to working with N/MUM to establish and maintain a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.
