Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

Deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Nurse Management, Nurse/Midwife Educators and Clinical Nurse/Midwife Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes 
  
The Clinical Midwife Educator (CME) assists staff in achieving and maintaining both mandatory and professional midwifery education requirements 
  
The CME facilitates the learning and assessment of students and new graduates within the division of Womens and Children's Health.

Essential Criteria:

Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Midwife – Division 1). 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Training &Assessment (TAA) qualification or Certificate IV in Workplace Training or relevant post graduate tertiary studies in education or willingness to attain same
  2. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level
  3. Extensive recent clinical midwifery experience with a sound knowledge of contemporary midwifery practice
  4. Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting
  5. Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching utilising adult learning principles
  6. Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of midwifery practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment
