About the Role

Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
 
The GP Liaison Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) provides expert clinical advice to women, patients, family, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service. This service will be a point of contact for GPs and a link between the GP and the Hospital. The CMC 2 will be available to answer phone enquiries regarding a woman’s pregnancy and support GPs when referrals into the Hospital are required. The CMC 2 will be supported by a Staff Specialist for any concerns that arise that are beyond the midwife’s scope. 

 
This is a Monday-Tuesday job share position working 8am-4:30pm. Leadership experience and experience in rolling out projects is highly desirable.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
  • Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment.
