The Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Unit (Brolga) is located in Hornsby. This unit provides a safe and therapeutic environment for 12–17-year-olds experiencing mental health problems. Brolga Adolescent Inpatient Unit- Hornsby

What you'll be doing

As a Clinical lead, you will be working with the allied health department with guiding, developing care coordination with a passion for research and quality improvement. Provide family therapy to complex family systems, with a particular focus on Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), as well as structural and systemic therapies to develop behaviour management plans for the ward. You will deliver and facilitate group therapy, alongside multidisciplinary colleagues with case management in your portfolio. The clinical lead will facilitate regular clinical supervision for the faculty of the allied health team and contribute to senior meetings and represent at senior management meetings with the emphasis on collaborating with key stakeholder for strategic partnerships with other services.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Current full registration with AHPRA and Masters or Doctorate level post-graduate qualification in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or Child and Adolescent Mental Health. The postgraduate qualifications must be of no less than two years full time duration (or part-time equivalent) and include professional clinical coursework, clinical training and supervised placement experience as core components.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of adolescents with high level acuity of mental health issues. Knowledge and expertise in contemporary practices in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership, service coordination and support to a multi-disciplinary
    team.
  5. Experience, knowledge and skills in care planning, family engagement referral and follow up.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and refine strategic relationships.
  7. Experience in project work or service development activities, that involve planning, developing, implementing, reviewing and evaluation of new initiatives within a health service context.
  8. Current NSW Drivers License.
