About the Opportunity
This is a broad clinical information role for a service of approximately 175 FTE. The role is responsible for all aspects of clinical information within the service.
This role entails Management of all DHS clinical information systems, ensuring data quality and accuracy. 

Act as central contact point for medico-legal queries, and responsible for ensuring all release of information complies with policy, regulation, and relevant legislation.

Oversee the provision of data reporting to DHS Executive & NSW Ministry of Health. The position works with DHS Executive, Managers, staff and MoH/SWSLHD Clinical Information staff and managers.

 

What You'll be Doing
Responsible for the overall management of the SWSLHD DHS Clinical Information Service. Develop and maintain functional relationships with the SWSLHD DHS Executive Leadership Team, SWSLHD Clinical Information Department and NSW Ministry of Health.

Develop innovative and integrated clinical information systems with the Executive Leadership team. Management of the data quality and improvement initiatives with the Executive Leadership team

  1. Tertiary Qualifications in Health Information Management
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use, development, implementation and evaluation of clinical information and medical record systems within a large organisation
  3. Demonstrated experience in establishing, developing, monitoring and reviewing clinical information management structures and systems to ensure optimal use of resources
  4. Demonstrated high level analytical skills and ability to interpret complex information rapidly, and experience developing innovative integrated information management systems
  5. Demonstrated experience in release of information and privacy practices in line with NSW Health Records Privacy Act (2002), NSW Children and Young Persons Act (1998), the Government Information (Public Access) Act (2009) and the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act (1998)
  6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication and organisational skills
  7. Extensive skills and experience in policy development, implementation, evaluation and review
  8. Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
