Where you’ll be working

The Nutrition and Dietetics Department at Auburn Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient dietetic services across a range of clinical specialties.

  • Works within a multidisciplinary hospital environment

  • Provides care across acute, rehabilitation and outpatient settings

  • Supports continuity of care following hospital discharge

 

What you’ll be doing

An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent part-time Dietitian to join the collaborative and dynamic multidisciplinary team (MDT) at Auburn Hospital. In this role you will provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, development and implementation of evidence‑based dietetic interventions, and education of patients, carers, and families to support optimal health outcomes. Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Assess and manage patients requiring dietetic intervention

  • Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and clinical meetings

  • Contribute to patient and staff education activities

  • Participate in quality improvement and service evaluation initiatives

The successful applicant will hold qualifications in accordance with NSW Health requirements and demonstrate experience within rehabilitation, neurodegenerative, and acute care settings. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an MDT are essential. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care within a supportive clinical environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics, acceptable to the membership of the Dietitians' Association of Australia (DAA)

Selection Criteria

  1. Up-to-date knowledge and skills in nutrition and dietetic practice.

  2. Current experience as a clinical dietitian with post graduate experience in rehabilitation or acute hospital setting.

  3. Demonstrated evidence of excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

  4. Demonstrated experience working as part of a team, as well as ability to work independently.

  5. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise workload.

  6. High level computer skills, including experience using CBORD Diet Office System, Cerner eMR or equivalent and MS Office.

  7. Demonstrated understanding and application of quality improvement principles.

  8. Ability to work Monday - Friday (8.00am-4.30pm), including public holidays.
