Where you'll be working

 
The position is located across multiple sites at Mona Vale Hospital, Mona Vale Community Health Centre, Brookvale Community Health Centre and Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice. Clinical area allocation is based on clinical demand.

What you'll be doing
This position is required to be part of a Monday to Friday 5-day Clinical Dietitian service. Workdays are negotiable based on availability, position demand and service needs. The Clinical Dietitian provides a high-quality Nutrition and Dietetics service to allocated clinical areas. The Clinical Dietitian participates in supervision as per NSLHD supervision policy and departmental work instructions. As a key member of the healthcare team, the Clinical Dietitian is an advocate for nutrition services. The Clinical Dietitian is active in maintaining standards of quality nutritional care, education and consultancy for patients, staff and the wider community. The Clinical Dietitian is involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services as well as identifying opportunities for improvement in clinical practice.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
  2. Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
  3. Commitment to participation in professional development, quality improvement activities and workplace education.
  4. Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of service to consumers, carers and families requiring effective interpersonal communication, networking and collaboration skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
