Position Classification: Speech Pathologist Level 1/2
Remuneration: $37.03 - $52.83 per hour
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)
Location: Mount Druitt, Blacktown & Doonside Community Health Centre’s
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Cumberland and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. Integrated and Community Health Child and Family Health services address the health and developmental needs of children in a community context. Nursing and Allied Health services are provided in a client and family centred integrated care model.
Speech pathologists are responsible for provision of assessment and management of communication and feeding difficulties for children using a primary health care approach. They provide a professional level of service with a commitment to multidisciplinary and evidence-based approaches to managing clients and promoting health.

- Qualification: Degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligible for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in providing paediatric Speech Pathology services.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with families from different psychosocial, socio economic or CALD backgrounds.
- Understanding of Primary Health Care principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team within a community setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of evidence based practice and commitment to professional development.
- Highly developed and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of computer based applications and hold a Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
