This is an Honorary Medical Officer position located at Gosford & Wyong Hospitals on the Central Coast of New South Wales. This is a 12 month vacancy from commencement.
The goals of this training are to enhance experience in advanced gynaecology, including laparoscopic, robotic, vaginal, open and hysteroscopic surgery; acute gynaecology and early pregnancy care; colposcopy; general gynaecology outpatient management; and multidisciplinary management alongside advanced-trained gynaecologists. The role also provides ongoing exposure to core obstetric practice including delivery ward responsibilities, antenatal clinics and caesarean section lists.
The position aims to consolidate and advance competencies in gynaecological surgery, early pregnancy management and ambulatory gynaecology, while also supporting continued development in obstetrics, teaching, leadership and research.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
- Advanced ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services.
- Advanced ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
- Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
- Advanced ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.
- Commitment to participating in training and development opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in the area of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
