The Central Coast Cancer Services team is embarking on an exciting new chapter, and we’re inviting an experienced Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner to be part of it. With the newly redeveloped Wyong Cancer Centre opening its doors to expanded services, this is a rare opportunity to step into a role where your expertise, leadership and vision will directly shape a brand‑new model of care.
Your commencement will align with the arrival of a new Medical Oncology Staff Specialist, creating a unique chance to build a service together from day one. Based predominantly at Wyong Hospital, you’ll be welcomed into a highly skilled and well‑supported multidisciplinary team that includes two haematology nurse practitioners, clinical nurse consultants, clinical nurse educators, and cancer nurse coordinators. About the Opportunity
The NP role is grounded in the nursing profession's values, knowledge, theories and practice and provides innovative and flexible healthcare delivery that complements other healthcare providers. Your role is vital in ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety for every individual in our care.
This position plays a key role in ensuring continuity of care and enhancing the overall patient experience within Cancer Servies. In this role you will:
Function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role to provide safe, high-quality advanced nursing care.
Conduct comprehensive assessments and management of clients/patients using advanced nursing knowledge and skills.
Establish communication links and work collaboratively with other relevant services to support/promote high-quality, evidence-informed patient centred advanced nursing practice.
Provide specialist clinical leadership in the development and delivery of specialty-related education programs and act as a resource and mentor to other health care professionals and services to enhance staff capability and knowledge and enable the delivery of optimal care.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and endorsement from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) to work at an advanced level as a Nurse Practitioner in a designated specialty.
Advanced clinical leadership skills to integrate the principles of clinical governance, quality improvement, evidence based practice and patient centred care.
Capacity to deliver advanced nursing practice and independently assess, investigate and implement appropriate treatment or referral for patients within advanced nursing practice guidelines.
Proven commitment to ongoing development of safe clinical practice to an advanced level with a successful track record of initiating and leading ongoing education initiatives.
Lead by example in utilising extensive experience and ability in building and maintaining cooperative professional and therapeutic relationships through the application of excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to utilise and present data for informing clinical initiatives and quality improvement strategies and to use information technology and systems effectively to effect changes in clinical practice.
