About the Role: 

The Manager of Environmental Services plays a vital leadership role across both Wyong and Long Jetty hospital sites, ensuring that all cleaning, waste, linen, and patient support services operate at the highest possible standard. Reporting to the Clinical Support Services Manager, this role is responsible for the day-to-day and strategic management of a large and diverse workforce of over 200 staff, including Hospital Assistants, Patient Support Assistants, Linen Attendants, and Motor Vehicle Drivers.

A key focus of the role is to ensure that all Environmental Services comply with NSW Health audit standards and infection control requirements. This includes maintaining safe, hygienic hospital environments and supporting clinical operations through efficient patient movement and logistics. The Manager will also oversee all rostering and workforce planning activities, ensuring adequate staffing levels and timely replacement of absent staff. This role involves leading recruitment processes, managing performance, and developing strong communication channels across teams and departments.

In addition to operational oversight, this role requires someone who can build and nurture a positive workplace culture. The Manager will be expected to lead by example, acting as a role model and mentor to staff and supervisors alike. They will play a significant role in the professional development of team leaders and supervisors, offering coaching and guidance to help them grow in their roles.

About You

  • Demonstrated recent experience and/or Qualification in the Management of service delivery with a multi disciplinary team in Healthcare/Hospitality setting.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, workforce strategy, and team culture development.
  • Takes pride in contributing to a team that supports patient care and public wellbeing.
