What you'll be doing
As an Advanced Clinical Coder, you will apply your expert knowledge to accurately code complex inpatient episodes while contributing to quality improvement and mentoring within the team.
Analyse medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-AM codes using Codefinder
Ensure compliance with Australian Coding Standards and ethical frameworks
Support coding quality initiatives, audits and data integrity processes
Mentor and guide junior coders, providing feedback and training
Monitor DRG allocation, coding accuracy and meet throughput KPIs

How to Apply
Apply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.
Extensive clinical coding experience (in the current ICD-10-AM version) across a broad range of specialties in a tertiary setting, evidenced to meet the District’s set KPIs of accuracy & throughput.
Demonstrated understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) and Activity Based Funding (ABF).
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills with high level attention to detail.
Proven ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time and resources to meet pre-determined targets and deadlines.
Ability to analyse, abstract, interpret and report information in clinical coding forums.
Enthusiastic attitude and demonstrated ability to work both independently, within a team and be flexible in a changing work environment.
Demonstrated experience using computer applications.
