About the Opportunity

This critical leadership role is responsible for the end-to-end financial management of the organisation’s Capital and Fixed Asset Program, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and high-quality financial reporting. Reporting to the Deputy Director Finance, you will lead the Capital Asset Accounting function and provide expert financial stewardship across a complex capital program. You will ensure accurate asset recording, valuation, capitalization and reporting in line with Accounting Standards and NSW Treasury policy. Additionally, you will act as the Finance contact point for all matters including extensive liaison with internal Project Managers in connection with the organisation’s capital program.
This is a high-impact role requiring strong technical capability, stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to operate with autonomy in a complex government environment.

About You

You are a strategic and strong finance professional with extensive experience in capital program management and asset accounting within a large enterprise or government environment.

You will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in Accounting, Business or Commerce and membership of a recognised accounting body (CA or CPA) or working to with a minimum of five years’ experience in a large enterprise or government organisation.
  • Proven leadership experience in a complex financial environment, including history of direct report and/or project managers management.
  • Strong people management capability, including staff development and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and contemporary financial asset management.
  • Significant experience in fixed asset accounting and capitalization.

Conditions

  • There is no entitlement to Transferred Employees Benefit (TEB) or travel allowance associated with this opportunity.
  • No NSW Ambulance accommodation is provided.
  • Employee’s currently undertaking an Extended Care Paramedic or Intensive Care Paramedic consolidation periods are eligible to apply however will need to complete all training and return of service obligations before accepting any relief/acting opportunities.
  • Employee’s currently undertaking a Special Operations Team (SOT) consolidation period are not eligible to apply for positions other than SOT positions. This includes positions offered via merit selection, transfer lists or later transfer mechanism, expressions of interest or secondments.

    Salary Range: $173,345 - $193,906 per annum + 12% Super & Benefits (Health Mgr lvl 5)
