Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a 99-bed facility providing acute care to Armidale and surrounding communities. The hospital delivers a broad range of services including Emergency, Medical and Surgical, Paediatrics, Maternity, Mental Health, Allied Health, Imaging, Orthopaedics, and General Surgery. About the role
Working within the casual pool, this role offers variety, flexibility, and exposure across multiple clinical areas. You’ll work across medical, surgical, paediatric, and emergency departments, supporting patient care in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
You’ll be part of a large, multicultural team that values collaboration and supports each other to deliver safe, person-centred care. This role is ideal if you enjoy variety, adaptability, and building broad clinical experience across an acute hospital setting.
You’ll be well supported through a combination of virtual and in-person orientation, guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager, and ongoing access to a Clinical Nurse Educator and professional development opportunities.
About you
You’re a committed and patient-focused nurse who thrives in a team environment and adapts confidently to changing clinical demands. You will bring:
- Cert III Assistant in Nursing or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (completion of first year and first semester or trimester of second year), or currently enrolled in a TAFE NSW Diplomas of Nursing (completion of identified foundational units in practice AND 120 hours of clinical placement).
- A commitment to delivering safe, effective, person-centred care
- The ability to respond appropriately to changing patient conditions and emergency situations
- Strong time management and critical thinking skills
- An understanding of evidence-informed practice
- A collaborative approach and strong communication skills within a multidisciplinary team
