Barraba Multi Purpose Service

We are seeking compassionate and motivated Casual Assistant in Nursing (AIN) professionals to join our healthcare team at Barraba Multi-Purpose Service. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about patient care and committed to delivering high-quality support within a collaborative rural healthcare environment.


About the Role

As an Assistant in Nursing, you will work closely with Registered Nurses and the broader healthcare team to provide safe, respectful, and patient-centred care. You will contribute to maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and wellbeing while supporting daily clinical operations across a multipurpose health service setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care
  • Support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care
  • Observe, report, and respond appropriately to patient needs and changes in condition
  • Maintain accurate communication with patients, families, and team members
  • Contribute positively to a safe, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture
  • Respond calmly and effectively in emergency or crisis situations
  • Promote patient dignity, confidentiality, and emotional wellbeing

 

Essential Selection Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Certificate III in Assistant in Nursing, or
  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree with:
  • Completion of first year and first semester/trimesters of second year, or
  • Be currently enrolled in a TAFE NSW Diploma of Nursing with:
  • Completion of identified foundational practice units.
