About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The Arts and Health Project Officer reports to the Arterie Manager and is responsible for designing and delivering the Carterie and Workshop programs to RPAH and additional hospital facilities with Arterie service agreements. This position includes supporting a team of volunteers as they offer art making engagements to patients, visitors and staff in treatment and waiting spaces, marketing and displaying completed artworks, and supporting the coordination and delivery of additional events for Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) on and off site. There is flexibility with how the set hours can be completed each week.

Ideal Candidate

  • Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and/or professional experience in arts – practice, education, teaching, public program’s, or health – practice, education, community engagements.
  • Experience in working with patients in an acute care setting.
  • Experience in designing or delivering community arts and cultural development projects and using the creative and performing arts for health and well-being outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with all participants and stakeholders displaying positive, empathetic, supportive and professional demeanour.
