We are looking for someone who can:

• Lead and coordinate specialist teams to deliver multiple concurrent projects within deadlines and budgets, managing competing priorities and securing stakeholder collaboration.
• Manage all facets of project delivery, including strategic planning, resource identification and coordination, stakeholder engagement, budget development, milestone definition, and negotiation of reporting requirements and completion timelines.
• Provide timely, expert advice and support to the Executive Director, Stream Manager and team on project development, implementation, management, and reporting, as well as in specialized areas of expertise

What you will be doing

The Anaesthesia and Perioperative Care Senior Project Officer will lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of surgical, anaesthetic, and precision medicine services across NSW. Reporting to the Anaesthesia and Perioperative Care Network Manager, the Senior Project Officer will deliver projects aligned with the work plans of individual Networks.

Working collaboratively with Network managers and staff, the Senior Project Officer will oversee all aspects of project management, including planning, milestone reporting, stakeholder engagement, budget management, and project monitoring and evaluation. This role operates within the ACI Surgery, Anaesthesia, and Precision Medicine Streams, supporting key priorities to improve healthcare outcomes.

Position Classification: Health Manager Level 3
Remuneration: $127,150.00 - $144,444.00 per annum excluding Superannuation
Hours Per Week: 40 (38 standard + 2hrs toward ADO)

Selection Criteria / Questions

1. Extensive experience in project management in a diverse service industry organisation, including relevant qualifications or equivalent. This includes broad knowledge and practical experience in working with clinicians, and within policies and system frameworks relevant to surgery and anaesthesia.
2. Highly developed ability to work within and support multidisciplinary teams together with a proven capacity to communicate and negotiate change and improvement initiatives with senior clinicians and executives.
3. Demonstrated experience to lead with attention to detail all phases of project management from design to implementation and evaluation.
4. High level system wide knowledge of contemporary issues, challenges and directions of the NSW health system to improve health outcomes
