About the Opportunity 
Camden & Campbelltown Hospital Occupational Therapy Department is seeking Allied Health Assistants to undertake these roles.  Full Time status is preferred however Part Time applications will be considered.  These roles entail a mix of clinical and administration responsibilities, which may include providing therapy, resource management, equipment tracking, organisation of therapy groups, scheduling and assisting the OT’s in a range of administration tasks.

You will be working with patients with a range of diagnosis’ to provide therapy interventions such as functional and self-care retraining, upper limb therapy, patient education and activities of daily living retraining – in both individual and in group settings. As part of this role you will receive regular formal and informal supervision and the opportunity to further develop your skills through clinical skills sessions and regular in-services.



What You'll be Doing
To provide a high quality clinical service to clients and their families/carers under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional to optimise health outcomes for the clients of the service. The Allied Health Assistant is also responsible for undertaking designated departmental and administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.

 

Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

 

The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities.

  1. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or relevant qualification or Minimum 12 months full-time equivalent relevant experience with commitment to undertake the Certificate IV in AHA within 12 month period.
  2. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional
  3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels
  4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
