Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Allied Health Assistant who is ready for a new adventure. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively alongside our Allied Health Professionals while providing clinical and administrative support services.

We are looking for an Allied Health Assistant to join us in this exciting role to provide a quality clinical and administrative service.

As the Allied Health Assistant, you will:

  • Work within multidisciplinary team under supervision of Diversional Therapist or allied health professional, reporting to Health Services Manager 
  • Plan, implement, and facilitate diverse individual and group leisure programs based on residents' preferences and life experiences to support independence, wellbeing, and emotional/spiritual health 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of leisure plans, calendars, and activity records while ensuring services meet NSW Health, MLHD, and Aged Care Quality standards 
  • Provide culturally safe and diverse programs with commitment to improving Aboriginal health outcomes 
  • Participate in professional development, complete required qualifications, and work independently within scope of practice, escalating issues when needed

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle / Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or formal commitment to complete this training within 3 years of employment, or relevant qualifications and completion of additional competencies as required.
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills 
  • The ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team 
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with demonstrate ability to take initiative
