Retrieval Advanced Trainee
Deliver high-quality medical care on-scene and during transport for critically ill and injured patients. This includes advanced clinical decision-making, performing medical procedures, maintaining accurate medical records, and demonstrating effective communication while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.This role has a flexible start date.

Emergency Advanced Trainee
This position is responsible for delivering direct patient care and providing clinical supervision to junior medical staff in the management of patients of all ages presenting to the John Hunter Emergency Department, within the Hunter New England Local Health District. The role ensures experienced on-site medical management under the supervision and guidance of Consultant Emergency Physicians, both on-site and on-call. This role has a flexible start date.

Qualifications
- Significant experience in Emergency Medicine, currently working at the level of ACEM Training Stage 4 (or equivalent) or higher.
- Demonstrated interest in pre-hospital and inter-hospital medical retrieval.
- Demonstrated experience in providing direct and remote clinical care to critically ill and injured adult and paediatric patients.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team to educate, motivate and problem-solve.
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills, including sound negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining personal knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education, quality improvement and best-practice initiatives and programs including participating in under-graduate and post-graduate teaching.
- Demonstrate the physical capacity to safely perform the duties of pre-hospital medicine, including meeting operational and aviation safety requirements. This includes fitting within aircraft and aircrew safety parameters, where weight restrictions apply when wearing standard flight equipment (e.g., flight suit and boots) and successfully completing a functional capacity assessment.
