- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Registered for advanced training in Neonatology or advanced general paediatric training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent.
- At least three (3) months experience as an advanced trainee in a Neonatal Intensive Care unit with an interest in undertaking further advanced training in Neonatology within Australia.
- Demonstrated skills in paediatric and neonatal procedures, such as used in neonatal intensive care.
- Ability to make independent clinical decisions within the limits of ability and to know when to consult for advice.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with colleagues and families and have a good track record of working well within a team.
- Demonstrate an interest and an ability to perform independent research, and demonstrate an understanding of good teaching methods and a commitment to instruction and supervision of Junior Medical and other clinical staff.
