- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Completion of a minimum of three postgraduate years
- Enrolled, or eligible to enrol, as an Advanced Trainee in the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine Advanced Training Program OR 2 An Overseas Trained Physician (ie. a Specialist International Medical Graduate) who is undertaking Specialist Assessment with the AFPHM and requires a position to complete. Demonstrated understanding of population health practice including health promotion principles and evidence-based interventions, communicable disease control, immunisation, public health policy and practice, and environmental health.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of reports, research, briefs, and correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, with a demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call roster including evening and weekend support via telephone or in person.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan projects or tasks and manage them to completion, and Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
