About the Role

We are seeking an organised and adaptable Administration Officer to join our small, close-knit team supporting the Department of Geriatric Medicine. This is a varied role where no two days are the same - from booking clinics and confirming patients to liaising with doctors and producing accurate correspondence.

Working as part of a team of four (including the Team Leader and Head of Department), you will be the go-to administrative support for our staff specialists and allied team members.

We value flexibility - while the role requires you to work Fridays, we are open to shorter days across five days or other arrangements to suit the right candidate.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage clinic bookings, patient confirmations and associated correspondence
  • Liaise effectively with doctors, patients and fellow administrative staff
  • Transcribe reports and create accurate documentation in a timely manner
  • Navigate internal systems to support the day-to-day running of the service
  • Contribute to a friendly and cooperative team culture

 

About You

You are an efficient and tech-savvy administrator with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload. You communicate clearly, work well in a team, and enjoy making a positive impact in a healthcare environment.


Essential skills and attributes:

  • Fast and accurate typing, with experience in data collection, report transcription and correspondence
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (or ability to learn)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks independently
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite and capacity to learn new systems
