We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to join the Ambulatory Care Business Unit as part of the administrative team in the Fertility Unit at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.

  

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about delivering exceptional, integrated and person-centred care. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support, manage patient interactions and contribute to the smooth daily operations of the Fertility Unit. Key responsibilities include coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, supporting day-to-day operations and liaising with medical staff to facilitate high-quality patient care.

  

The RPAH Fertility Unit operates as a unique public-private partnership with Genea, offering accessible and high-quality IVF services. This position is part of the Women and Babies Ambulatory Service within the centralised Ambulatory Care Business Unit (ACBU).

Ideal Candidate

  • Able to work on rotating roster across the following shifts: 7:00am to 3:30pm, 7:30am to 4:00pm, 8:00am to 4:30pm, and 8:30am to 5:00pm.
  • Has high level computer literacy and typing skills, including experience with dictaphone transcribing equipment or software, with a minimum typing speed of 60wpm.
  • Strong administrative and customer service skills are essential, along with healthcare experience or a background in a health-related setting. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally and compassionately with patients, families and staff.
