About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
The Ambulatory Care Business Unit (ACBU) provides a centralised administrative workforce structure across a variety of RPAH outpatient clinics. The purpose of the ACBU is to ensure centralised processes amongst our outpatient services and to support our staff in providing the best care for our patients.
Administrative Officers are often the first point of contact for patients, families and their carers in an outpatient setting. Administrative Officer roles within ACBU are responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service, administrative support and actively contributing to a positive experience for our patients and visitors.
This position will be working weekdays excluding Wednesdays. You will be joining a collaborative and collegiate team culture supporting multiple clinics, celebrates successes, learns from mistakes, supports the welfare of both the clinics and each other, placing patient care & safety as the highest priority.

Ideal Candidate
- Competency with the use of IT in a fast-paced office environment is a must.
- Billing experience in hospitals is preferred, but not a pre-requisite.
- Administration experience required in dealing with front office and back office operations.
- Ability to manage competing demands – ability to prioritise and multi-task.
- Can bring a sense of humour and a positive approach to managing high volume of work, dealing with patients and under pressure clinicians.
- Fast learner on processes across multiple Neuro clinics – attention to detail across all tasks, consistently is a must.
- Uses initiative to solve problems and manage complexity.
