Western Newcastle Community Health Centre is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Administration Officer to join our busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in supporting a diverse range of community-based health services that make a meaningful difference to the lives of people across our region.
About the Team
Western Newcastle Community Health Centre delivers a broad range of generalist and specialised community health services, providing both home-based and centre-based care primarily for adults. Our multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to support the health and wellbeing of the community through nursing, allied health and other specialist services.
As the first point of contact for many clients, this role is an important part of ensuring consumers receive a positive experience when accessing our services.
About the Role
Reporting to the Nursing Unit Manager, you will provide efficient and effective administrative support across multiple community health services. Working in a busy front reception environment, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming clients and visitors and providing a professional first point of contact.
- Checking patients in for appointments and notifying clinicians of their arrival.
- Managing telephone enquiries for community nursing, allied health and co-located services.
- Scheduling and administrative support for a range of clinical services.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and managing documentation within electronic systems.
- Supporting medical record management and administrative processes.
- Assisting with the smooth operation of the Community Health Centre and providing support to clinical and non-clinical staff as required.
About You
You are an organised and adaptable administration professional who thrives in a busy customer service environment. You enjoy working with a wide range of people and can confidently manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Essential Requirements
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems.
