About The Role:

The Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychiatry Team operates across John Hunter, Belmont, and Maitland Hospitals. The successful candidate will be primarily based at John Hunter Hospital, with responsibility for providing support to the other sites remotely as required.
  • CL Psychiatry is a collaborative, supportive, and flexible team committed to delivering high-quality patient care. The Administration Officer plays a vital role within the team and is responsible for a range of administrative duties including scheduling and rescheduling appointments, updating patient information in electronic medical records, transcribing correspondence, and performing data entry.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic health systems for medical records, data capture, and rostering is essential for this role.
  • The role primarily involves direct contact with patients to schedule and reschedule appointments, accurate entry of information into various electronic medical record systems, and the preparation of documents, reports, and correspondence. In addition, the position provides essential administrative support to the broader team. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and efficiency, while effectively handling multiple competing priorities

About You:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Administration Officer to join our close-knit and cohesive team. A friendly, welcoming, and adaptable attitude is essential for this role. The position is responsible for coordinating and completing a range of administrative and medicolegal processes that support the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Services.

Key responsibilities include liaising with patients to schedule or reschedule appointments, entering and maintaining accurate information in various electronic medical record systems, and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence. The role also involves providing general administrative support to the team.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to navigate multiple systems with confidence
