About The Opportunity 
This is an exciting opportunity to join the SWSLHD Research Directorate as an administrative officer. This role is responsible for providing high level administrative support to the Ethics and Research Governance team, as well as the Human Research Ethics Committee.


What You'll Be Doing
The Administrative Officer Research and Ethics provides high level administrative support for the operation of the Research Ethics and Governance Unit of the Research Directorate. The Administrative Officer Research and Ethics works in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures for the smooth running of the Research Ethics and Governance Unit. These include the standard operating procedures, NSW Health policy directives, Privacy Act and any related or associated laws and policies.

  1. Demonstrated high level administrative skills and previous clerical experience, including providing support tasks such as meeting scheduling, committee support, filing, database management and telephone call handling. 

  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrating a sound ability to work as part of a team.

  3. Strong initiative and ability to solve problems with little direction.

  4. Excellent computer skills including word processing and data base management along with demonstrating an ability to manage a high throughput workload and prioritise competing work demands whilst ensuring attention to detail.

  5. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to maintain confidentiality and privacy.

  6. Knowledge and understanding of the health and medical research.

  7. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
