This position offers meaningful, varied work that contributes directly to the health and wellbeing of our communities. You will collaborate with a wide range of Hunter New England Local Health District services and external partners to support healthy environments, healthy communities, and healthy people.
Our team culture values collaboration, curiosity, respect, and inclusivity. We actively seek diverse perspectives and value voices that may be less heard, creating a supportive and thoughtful workplace where people feel safe to contribute and grow.

Your day-to-day work will include:
- Managing busy diaries and coordinating appointments
- Drafting professional correspondence and preparing reports
- Phone intake, data entry, and triage of notifiable diseases
- Supporting sensitive processes such as the management of deceased persons

About You:
You are an engaged and thoughtful administrator who brings strong critical thinking skills and a collaborative approach to your work. You can prioritise effectively, adapt to changing demands, and remain calm and organised in a busy environment.
You will bring:
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- The ability to think critically and problem-solve
- A collaborative and respectful working style
- Confidence working across multiple teams and tasks
- An interest in improving systems, processes, and ways of working
Experience in health or public health settings is beneficial but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
Why Join Us?
You will be well supported in this role through strong leadership and a collaborative team environment. Support includes:
- Ongoing guidance from the Environmental Health Manager and Nurse Manager
- Day-to-day support from experienced and approachable team members
