What you'll be doing 
As the Aboriginal Health Services Manager, you will lead the coordination, delivery and ongoing development of key Aboriginal Health Services across WSLHD. You’ll manage people, resources and partnerships to ensure high-quality, culturally safe preventative, early intervention and treatment programs.

  • Provide day-to-day operational management of services, staff, budgets and resources

  • Foster culturally safe environments and support access to cultural mentoring

  • Ensure programs align with priorities and deliver strong outcomes for communities

  • Work collaboratively across WSLHD to enhance culturally appropriate models of care

  • Strengthen community engagement and partnerships to support inclusive service planning

Selection Criteria: 

  1. This is an identified Aboriginal Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander descent, have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with their local Aboriginal community. An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and exemption is claimed under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW

  2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or a health-related discipline and / or relevant experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

  3. Demonstrated management and leadership skills including demonstrated skills and experience in staff supervision and management, service planning and project management and a demonstrated ability to ensure a culturally safe and culturally appropriate workplace

  4. Demonstrated understanding of the issues and health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and of current legislative requirements, policies and practice in relation to these issues

  5. Proven capacity to provide leadership to assist services or organisations to respond to the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with senior executives, management, health staff, and external stakeholders including high level oral and written communication skills

  7. Demonstrated effective planning, organisational, problem-solving skills and ability to lead in a changing environment, to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

  8. Current driver’s licence valid in NSW
