About the role:
Hunter New England Imaging (Greater Metropolitan Sector) is offering a number of New Graduate Radiographer positions for 2027 across John Hunter Hospital, Calvary Mater Newcastle, Maitland Hospital, and Belmont Hospital. These are temporary full-time positions for a period of 12 months, classified as Radiographer Level 2.
As a New Graduate Radiographer, you will provide high-quality diagnostic medical imaging services in accordance with AHPRA registration requirements, professional standards, and Hunter New England Local Health District policies and procedures. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will participate in a shift roster delivering a broad range of general imaging services, including mobile radiography, intra-operative fluoroscopy, and fixed fluoroscopy. CT training will be provided where available, depending on the operational requirements of each site.
Graduates based at Maitland Hospital will also participate in the Upper Hunter Relief Radiographer program. This may require temporary residence near an Upper Hunter hospital to provide leave relief and on-call services.

Throughout your graduate year, you'll receive ongoing mentorship and guidance from experienced Senior Radiographers, Assistant Chief Radiographers, and Chief Radiographers, supporting your professional development and helping you build confidence as you transition into clinical practice.
Requirements
Eligible for degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent prior to commencement of role
Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA)
Eligibility to hold/current NSW EPA Radiation licence
Current NSW Drivers licence
Participate in the Rosters, overtime and on-call duties as required by the site, and which may change from time to time
Able to reside adjacent to Upper Hunter New England Imaging sites when required (applicable to Maitland New Graduate Radiographers only)
