About Us – eHealth NSW
At eHealth NSW, we’re leading the digital transformation of Australia’s largest health system. As NSW Health’s digital centre of excellence, we design, build and support world-class ICT solutions that improve patient care across the state.

Guided by a Cloud First Strategy, we’re harnessing digital technology to better patient care and deliver scalable, quality, patient-centred, digital healthcare. About the Opportunity
eHealth NSW is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Owner to lead the NSW Health Clinical Integration ESB Platform. This platform supports thousands of clinical transactions every day across NSW Health, including HL7 messaging, clinical repositories, diagnostic systems, and statewide digital health solutions.

The Senior Platform Owner leads platform strategy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, while coaching and directing multidisciplinary teams, shaping technical standards, and influencing clinical and executive stakeholders on integration direction and investment priorities.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in complex clinical ICT environments and has deep experience in healthcare system integration.

In this role, you will:

  • Exercise single-point accountability for the Clinical ESB Platform, including runtime operations, availability, performance, resilience, and clinical safety outcomes.
  • Set and own the platform vision and roadmap, balancing operational stability with innovation and modernization, and ensuring alignment to clinical programs, enterprise architecture, and statewide priorities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering, integration, and operations teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and clinical service excellence.
  • Partner effectively with Directors, Associate Directors, clinical programs, LHDs, vendors, and senior technical stakeholders to deliver integrated, reliable solutions.
  • Influence and advise senior leaders on platform risks, investment needs, capability gaps, and future-state integration strategy using clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Lead platform governance including change management, risk management, incident response, problem management, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure adherence to NSW Health policies relating to cyber security, clinical safety, change control, and operational compliance.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates who have:

  • Strong background in clinical integration (HL7, XML, FHIR, CDA, SOAP/REST, Java-based transformations).
  • Hands-on experience with ESB integration platforms (jCAPS, OpenESB, MuleSoft, or similar).
  • Experience in cloud-hosted integration and IaC (Terraform).
  • Leadership experience in clinical ICT environments.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across NSW Health.
  • A commitment to platform resilience, security, and continuous improvement.

If you’re passionate about shaping the future of clinical interoperability and ensuring clinicians have timely, reliable information to support patient care, this role is for you.
