IT Systems Infrastructure Engineer (Health Manager Level 3)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role requires extensive experience across Windows, Unix, and Linux environments, combined with a working knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms. You will also bring solid expertise in Hypervisors such as VMware, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

 

In this role, you will participate in an on-call rotation and work closely with senior engineers, cloud architects, and IT operations teams to help ensure performance, security, and operational efficiency across a range of platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an infrastructure or cloud engineer with a strong technical foundation in virtualization, cloud services, and automation to grow within a forward thinking and innovative organization enriching health across NSW in millions of ways every day.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and maintain Windows, Unix, and Linux systems, including installation, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee OS lifecycle and compliance, leveraging tools like SCCM, Intune, and RStudio for system management.
  • Administer and troubleshoot VMware and similar hypervisor platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain hybrid infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments.
  • Drive automation and incident resolution to ensure high availability and operational efficiency using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

     

     


    This role is internally referred to as Engineer - DevOps

 

About You
We are looking for someone with:

  • Hands-on expertise in Windows, Unix, and Linux systems administration, including upgrades and patch management.
  • Proficient with SCCM, Intune, and RStudio for effective system patching and management.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud services with experience in hybrid cloud integration.
  • Solid experience managing hypervisors, primarily VMware, with familiarity in other platforms.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex, multi-platform infrastructures.
