Essential Requirements:
- Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or higher level
- Registration: Demonstrated full registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Nurse or Psychologist, or eligibility to be a member of the AASW as a Social Worker (CNC requires at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and approved post registration nursing qualifications relevant to the position).
- Evidence of Diversity claim if applicable (state which category): Proof of Aboriginality
Selection Criteria:
- To be a person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-discrimination Act 19
- Tertiary qualification Bachelor Health Science (Mental Health)(Djirruwang graduates only), or qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mental health issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with experience in mental health and/or social emotional spiritual wellbeing of Aboriginal people and their communities and ability to provide high quality, safe and connected care in a person-centred and holistic manner that promotes self-determination and in context of the principles of mental health rehabilitation, recovery framework and a strength based approach.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to develop, review, implement and evaluate programs for service improvement and skills in providing education and supervision to support the Aboriginal Mental Health workforce
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Understanding of clinical governance and development of systems to deliver high-quality, person-centred mental health care.
- Demonstrated high-level negotiation, communication and facilitation skills including delivering education and presentations to staff and managers and commitment service.
- Current unrestricted NSW drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires.
