About the role
This is a temporary full-time position within our department working as the Senior Occupational Therapist in the RACE (Rapid Access to Care & Evaluation). This position will be responsible for a clinical caseload as well as supervising up to three level 1/2 Occupational Therapists within the team. We are seeking strong leadership in this space and there are various other roles and responsibilities you will have as a Senior clinician in our department. Our RACE team is part of the community team who support our geriatric population at home and are a crucial component of supporting discharges from the acute inpatient geriatric team and creating safety for our patients in the community. You will be working alongside other acute senior clinicians and level 1/2 staff.

Essential Criteria:

• License: Unrestricted Australian drivers license.
• Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW.
• Registration: AHPRA registration as Occupational Therapist.

 Selection Criteria:

1. Significant clinical experience in Occupational Therapy in an acute or community aged care setting with the ability to exercise independent professional judgment.
2. Ability to work independently with distant supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
3. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stake holders throughout all organisational levels.
4. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
5. Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills including ability to prioritise competing demands.
6. Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to occupational therapists and students.
7. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
