Remuneration: $112,396 – $116,038 per annum

What you'll be doing 
Join the Safeguards Team delivering rapid, flexible, and recovery-focused care to young people in acute mental health distress, across home, school, and hospital settings. Responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist OT assessments, interventions & therapy
• Supporting recovery through outreach & time-limited care
• Collaborating with families, carers & community supports
• Delivering trauma-informed, evidence-based clinical practice
• Mentoring students & contributing to quality improvement

Essential Requirements:

Qualifications:   Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and accreditation  with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Registration: General AHPRA  Registration as an Occupational Therapist.

Selection Criteria:  

1. Demonstrated mental health experience in the use of Occupational Therapy assessment tools, knowledge and experience working in mental health service
2. Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with families, other relevant agencies, community services and CMOs to provide effective collaborative intervention for consumers
3. Demonstrated experience in recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health and the ability to implement these within clinical practice which is evidence based
4. Experience in developing, facilitating, and evaluating group therapy programs in line with occupational therapy goals
5. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team within a community setting. Valid Class C Driver’s Licence of NSW
6. Ability to work both independently with minimum direct clinical supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team including demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
7. Demonstrated experience in supervising of students & junior staff
8. Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation in their treatment and care plan development, working with families and carers
