What you'll be doing
As the Level 3 Social Work Team Leader, you’ll provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership within the Acute Geriatric Medicine wards. This role combines hands-on clinical work with strategic team management to deliver exceptional patient care.
Lead and mentor social workers across acute geriatric wards
Deliver complex psychosocial interventions and advanced clinical services
Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure holistic care
Drive implementation of protocols, policies, and quality improvement initiatives
Provide education, supervision, and consultation to staff and students

Essential Requirements
Qualification: Bachelor of Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)
Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
Demonstrated ability and skills in team leadership and management including extensive experience in staff and student supervision.
Demonstrated high level clinical experience in aged care social work services with an understanding of age related illnesses, Elder abuse, Guardianship matters, NDIS matters, grief and bereavement, accommodation placements and complex familial presentations.
Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures for service improvement and skills in providing training and education.
Demonstrated well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills.
Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stake holders throughout all organisational levels.
Ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence and ability to participate in the After Hours Crisis On-Call Social Work Service.
