Where you'll be working
The role will be based at Westmead Hospital. The biggest health infrastructure project in the state, worth $1billion, is currently transforming the Westmead Precinct into one of the largest health, education, research and training precincts in Australia. The precinct will deliver an innovative, integrated facility that will continue to deliver high-quality healthcare for decades to come.

Westmead is fast becoming an area of growth and future investment. It is 10 mins from the heart of Parramatta, with infrastructure and housing development surround the facility, the new tram outside the main entrance and the train station a 5 minute walk away.




What you'll be doing
You will be an integral part of the Specialist Intellectual Disability Health Team, providing administration and clerical support for the service. The service focuses on assessment, care planning, navigation to other specialist services and capacity building of the person’s primary health care team and health staff, for people with intellectual disabilities and complex health conditions.

Your role will be responsible for completing a range of operational, clerical and administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the service, including assistance with admissions/transfers/discharges, record management, data entry, data base management, booking services/appointments, record keeping, managing postal and other correspondence, general filing/typing/copying, preparation and distribution of agendas and related documents, typing of minutes and diary management.

How to Apply

  1. Demonstrated experience in reception and general administration in a high demand team oriented environment, ideally in a similar administrative support role in a complex team.

  2. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent customer service skills to ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders especially with patients with complex disabilities.

  3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise own work and carry out tasks and job responsibilities with attention to detail and accuracy to meet deadlines.

  4. Demonstrated high level computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft and Windows based applications and email systems and/or experience in other information and record keeping systems.

  5. Understanding of, and commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve quality service outcomes.

  7. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work activities to achieve work outcomes.

  8. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
