Registered Nurse – Extended Day Surgery Unit (EDSU)
Orange Health Service

About the role

Join us at Orange Hospital, the major referral centre for Western NSW, where you’ll be part of the Extended Day Surgical Unit (EDSU).  It’s not often we have vacancies — however we have recently extended the EDSU to open on weekends and we need to expand the team.  This is your chance!

The EDSU is a unique ward, featuring:

  • A wide variety of presentations
  • Short stay – high turnover of patients
  • Medium to low acuity, with predictable post-operative courses and standardised care
  • Good nurse to patient ratios
  • Well supported working environment
  • 12 hour or 8 hour shift patterns

We are seeking year 2+ Registered Nurses with surgical experience, who are ambitious to upskill to clinical nurse specialist positions, supporting the ward in the development of the extended service.

You will be part of a great small team with a supportive culture to which other teams aspire, led by a passionate and enthusiastic Nurse Manager who is very consultative in his leadership approach.

Why Choose Orange?

Imagine finishing your shift and heading to play an indoor team sport, hit the heights of a hiking trail, or chillax in a buzzing local pub — all just minutes from home. Orange offers the perfect fusion of laid-back regional living and sophisticated city culture.

🍷 Wine & Dine Capital: Home to some of Australia’s most awarded cool-climate wineries and gourmet restaurants.

🌳 Nature on Your Doorstep: Surrounded by national parks, lakes, and bushwalking trails — ideal for weekend adventures.

🏡 A Place to Belong: Great schools, vibrant arts and culture, and a strong sense of community.

💰 Affordable Living: Enjoy the lifestyle you want with real housing options and room to breathe.

Apply now and make the move to Orange – where your career, and lifestyle, can thrive.
