Registered Nurse – Clinical Trials
Orange Health Service

About the role

While previous experience in clinical trials is valuable, it is not essential. We are looking for someone with a passion for learning, a commitment to patient-centred care, and the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided to help the successful candidate develop the specialised skills required for this rewarding role.

This role also requires excellent communication skills to interact effectively with a wide range of audiences, including patients, doctors, allied health professionals, trial sponsors, and both internal and external service providers. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong time management, attention to protocol details, and care coordination skills to ensure smooth trial operations and the highest standards of care.

Clinical trials staff usually work Monday to Friday during business hours and offers flexible start and finish times, subject to operational needs. This allows for a work schedule that supports both professional responsibilities and personal commitments.

The team consists of highly skilled RNs pharmacists and admin. The team is supported by a manager and works closely with Oncologists, Haematologists and Radiation Oncologists. Be part of something truly transformative—bringing cutting-edge medical advancements to rural communities, enabling patients to receive life-changing treatments close to home. This role puts you at the forefront of medical developments, working with a wide range of stakeholders to make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives.

Your day will include supporting patients as they receive treatments, conducting lab work such as collecting and processing blood samples, liaising with doctors and trial sponsors, and collating data that contributes to the success of clinical studies.

You will work closely with a supportive clinical trials team and the broader cancer services team, including pharmacy and external agencies like pathology and trail sponsors. You will also collaborate directly with patients and their families to deliver exceptional care.

We provide a thorough orientation and ongoing training to help you excel. You will also be linked with the Clinical Trials Support Unit, ensuring access to expertise and resources as you navigate this rewarding role.

This position is Temporary until January 2027 and not suitable for Sponsorship for Visa.
