What you'll be doing
We’re seeking a motivated and collaborative Staff Specialist Radiation Oncologist to join our team at the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute in Port Macquarie.
This temporary full-time role offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive, contemporary radiation oncology services within the Hastings Macleay Clinical Network, supporting optimal patient outcomes across a growing regional population. You’ll work alongside a skilled and supportive team, contributing to a high-quality service that values innovation, collaboration and patient-centred care.
The position includes outpatient clinics, consultative services (including telehealth), and the development of detailed treatment plans to support timely and effective care. You will also provide support to colleagues during periods of leave and contribute to service delivery across the network where required.
You’ll play an important role in education and supervision, supporting registrars, junior doctors and multidisciplinary staff, while contributing to ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives. Participation in the on-call roster and clinical governance activities is an expected part of the role.
We are looking for a Radiation Oncologist eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia, with experience in contemporary techniques including 3D CT-contouring, IMRT, VMAT and SBRT/SABR. Experience in head and neck and skin malignancies, along with a commitment to teaching, research and continuous improvement, will be highly regarded.
This role will suit a clinician who values teamwork, supports a collegial culture and is committed to delivering high-quality care in a regional setting.
This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.
