This is an exciting opportunity to join the Social Work Department at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals and help lead the social work service in the expanding clinical areas of women’s health and paediatrics.

What You'll be Doing
This position is responsible for providing professional leadership and team management to Social Work staff located within the Women and Children's Health team of Campbelltown and Camden Hospital.  

The position will lead and oversee the provision of a Social Work service to consumers and their carers in the area of Women and Children's Health and ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes that are consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. 

The position is expected to provide leadership in quality activities, manage specific projects, and assist in human resource management and other relevant departmental administrative duties.

How to Apply

  1. A Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  2. Extensive post graduate experience working as a Social Worker in relevant clinical areas, including a demonstrated understanding of the health setting, complex health conditions and the impact on wellbeing.
  3. Demonstrated experience in prioritising a challenging and demanding workload; managing stressful situations; and applying advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or critical nature.
  4. Demonstrated experience in providing guidance, leadership and management of a social work team.
  5. Demonstrated advanced communication skills (verbal and written), including excellent negotiation, complex decision making and advocacy skills and demonstrated computer skills.
  6. Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision to staff and students.
  7. Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementing, leading and evaluating of quality improvement activities involving the application of evidenced based practice within social work.
  8. Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
