Social Work Senior positions provide an opportunity to apply & develop your specialised knowledge and skills. The Aged Care Senior Social Worker position works collaboration with the other Aged Care Senior Social Workers and the multidisciplinary team at Campbelltown Hospital to provide specialist services to frail aged and vulnerable older people across both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

The team have a strong emphasis on older people aging positively in the community with the required support & assistance.

What You'll be Doing
This position is responsible for providing specialist Social Work service to consumers and their carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties.

Where You'll Be Working 
Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.

Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

 

The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities.

 

Together, these sister hospitals ensure that the diverse needs of the community are met with excellence and innovation in healthcare.

How to Apply

  1. A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  2. Extensive post graduate experience working as a Social Worker in relevant clinical areas, including a demonstrated understanding of the health setting, complex health conditions and the impact on wellbeing.
  3. Demonstrated experience in prioritising a challenging and demanding workload; managing stressful situations; and applying advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or critical nature
  4. Experience working independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated high level communication skills (written and verbal), and demonstrated computer skills.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision and expert advice/consultation to the social work service and the clinical specialty.
  7. Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementing, leading and evaluating of quality improvement activities involving the application of evidenced based practice within social work
  8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
