Are You the Right Fit?
We’re seeking Registered Nurses who bring strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision‑making to a fast‑paced, unpredictable Emergency Department. You’ll remain calm and professional with acutely unwell or distressed patients, communicate clearly and compassionately, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, timely, patient‑centred care.

You value continuous learning and reflective practice, accept feedback constructively, and uphold ethical, confidential, culturally safe care. You’re adaptable and resilient, manage competing priorities effectively, and demonstrate accountability, reliability and leadership appropriate to your experience—including supporting and mentoring colleagues when needed.

  • Proven ED (or critical care) capability, with strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and timely decision‑making under pressure.
  • Calm, compassionate communicator, engaging respectfully with patients, families and colleagues while escalating care appropriately.
  • Team‑focused collaborator, working effectively within a multidisciplinary team and contributing to a positive, learning‑focused culture.
  • Adaptable and organised, showing sound time‑management and prioritisation to meet changing clinical demands safely.
  • Ethical, professional and culturally safe practice, maintaining confidentiality and aligning with best practice and organisational standards.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  • Clinical Experience - Demonstrate your recent clinical experience in emergency care or an acute care setting. Include the key skills, responsibilities, and professional development activities that contribute to your readiness for practice in Bowral Hospital
  • Teamwork and High Demand Environments - Provide an example of how you worked effectively within a multidisciplinary team during a period of high activity or increased patient demand. Describe the actions you took to support safe patient flow, maintain collaborative communication, and ensure timely, quality care.
  • Adaptability in a Changing Environment - Emergency Departments can change quickly. Describe a situation where you had to adapt to new priorities or unexpected challenges. How did you manage this?
  • Communication & Compassion - Working in the ED often involves highly emotional situations. Demonstrate your ability to use effective, empathetic communication to manage difficult interactions with patients, family members, or colleagues.
