About the Opportunity 
Campbelltown Hospital is seeking a temporary full-time Registered Midwife to join our TEAM Model of Care. This continuity of care model involves working within a supportive team to manage a caseload of 30–35 women per month through antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care in the home. You’ll work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary Women’s Health team, providing care to women of moderate risk across the antenatal clinic, birthing unit, and Midwifery Support Program (MSP). A rotating roster ensures variety and flexibility while delivering safe, compassionate, and culturally appropriate care.

In this role, you will critically assess, plan, implement, and evaluate midwifery care to achieve quality outcomes, while taking accountability for your clinical practice and professional development. You’ll communicate effectively with women, families, and colleagues, actively support and teach others, and uphold the highest standards of midwifery practice in line with legislation, codes of conduct, and NSW Health values.

What You'll be Doing
The midwife is a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct births on the midwife's own responsibility and to provide care for the newborn and the infant.

This position may entail rotating through various clinical areas such as, Birthing Unit, Post/Antenatal Ward, Special Care Nursery and Antenatal Clinic

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Midwife in an environment appropriate to the relevant specialty
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, families, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based midwifery care
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
  8. This position requires the ability to work a 7-day rotating roster, covering mornings/afternoons/nights, weekends and Public Holiday.
  9. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
