About the Opportunity
The role will provide support to the newly established Renal Transplant Service based at Liverpool Hospital, in addition to other clinics within the renal department.
The role of Pre-Transplant Care Navigator is to assist in the operation of the new Renal Transplant Unit by providing administrative support with a high level of customer focus and service, and maintaining relevant office systems.
This role is part of Renal Administrative Team who will work with the Multidisciplinary team, Renal Administrative team, Admin Manager, Living Donor, Transplant and Post-Transplant Co-ordinators, Outpatient Services Manager, Other outpatient services staff and Customers and suppliers.

- Time Management – possess the ability to prioritise tasks in a constantly changing environment and adapt quickly to accommodate varying demands.
- Understanding patient's needs – Providing patients with relevant information and ensuring their needs are met.

- Ability to work weekend shifts including Saturdays as part of the regular roster
The role will potentially increase to Full Time (38 hours per week) in the new Finance year.
What You'll be Doing
The role of Pre-Transplant Care Navigator is to assist in the operation of the new Renal Transplant Unit by providing administrative support, maintain a high level of customer focus and service, and maintaining relevant office systems. Their role is to assist the transplant coordinators to undertake patient assessment in the outpatient setting as well as help consumers navigate the health care system in an efficient manner.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

- Previous experience as a secretarial/administrative support person in a medical field and or/ supporting and advocating for customers in a previous health system navigation role.
- Proven communication and customer service skills, to maintain professional consumer and staff interactions, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
- Demonstrable computer skills, and an aptitude for using multiple electronic patient information systems such as eMR and PAS
- Proven ability to work as part of a busy team, following protocols, as well as being able to work unsupervised and use your initiative to problem solve using good time management and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work weekend shifts including Saturdays as part of the regular roster.
