About The Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Visiting Dental Officer (VDO) in Paediatric Dentistry to join our Oral Health team. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality dental care for children and adolescents across the district.This position is sessional and is based at Campbelltown Hospital Dental Centre, where you will provide high-quality dental care to children. Working within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to improving oral health outcomes for our youngest patients.

What You'll be doing
Visiting Dental Officers will provide clinical dental care (specialist) to patients of the Oral Health Service in SWSLHD facilities, on a sessional basis. The dental specialist will be expected to practice within their complete scope of their practice and minimise unnecessary referrals to other centres.
Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.
Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.
The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities.
Together, these sister hospitals ensure that the diverse needs of the community are met with excellence and innovation in healthcare.

1. Must be registered (with no conditions) with the Dental Board of Australia as a Specialist in appropriate speciality (Oral Surgery, Paediatrics or Special Needs Dentistry) and must currently hold and maintain current professional medical/dental indemnity insurance.
2. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Demonstrated understanding of infection control principles.
4. An understanding of current concepts in clinical practice including activity based and value based care.
5. Skills and commitment to work effectively in multi-disciplinary dental teams, with effective time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Adequate computer skills for clinical and associated applications.
7. Demonstrated commitment to quality assurance and patient safety activities relevant to dental practice.
8. Demonstrated technical and professional competence as a Board registered specialist dentist in the appropriate speciality.
